Dear Members, Dancers, Officials, Trainers!

1.    Registration of dancers, couples and formations

The Registration process will start with the Fast Registration Protocol (FRP), where you will have the opportunity to activate your dancers, couples and formations in three simple steps (activation of existing couples, formations and dancers), and immediately conclude the registration process by creating the invoice for the registration fees. The Fast Registration Protocol will stay active during the whole year, again allowing faster and simpler activation and registration of existing non-active competitors. 2.    Registration of WRRC Judges

New this year is the registration process for WRRC licensed judges (Rock’n’Roll and Boogie Woogie). It is similar to the registration of dancers. The main difference to previous years is in the process of registration, which is done exclusively through the WRRC Registration system. As long as the judges are not fully registered (activated, with valid licenses and evidence of the judging seminars, paid license fee for the year 2023), they will not be visible on the public WRRC website, and they cannot be assigned to the competitions. We will send detailed information directly to our Member federations.

3.    Valid age groups in 2023

Valid age groups for 2022 are listed below:

Prices for registration fee and starting fee in 2023, according to the Fee Scale:

• The registration fee for participants (couple and/or formation), per person and year:  25 €
• The starting fee for participants in the competition, per person and per competition day: 15 €

Clarification: If one person is dancing in a couple and formation(s), only one fee (registration must be paid.

4.    Valid and updated (clarified) rules for 2023

During the last Presidium meeting in Munich (Erding)  (January 13-15, 2023), WRRC Presidium checked all online published documents, and updated some of them. All updated documents will be published on the WRRC website until the end of January.

5.    Introduction of the new Rock’n’Roll formations categories: Small Girls Formations and Small Ladies Formations

As decided on the GM 2021, during last year the Sport Commission reviewed and updated the rules for the competitions in Small formations. Here are once again some basic information (Rock’n’Roll Rules):

• If the athletes dance in the «Small Girls Formation » or «Small Ladies Formation » category, then they cannot dance in the «Girls Formation» and/or «Ladies Formation» categories.
• It is possible to change the category from «Small Girls Formation» to «Small Ladies Formation» and contrariwise only once a year.
• In all qualification rounds until the final, there will be two formations on the dance floor, and they will dance on the music of the organizer.

6.    Rock’n’Roll: Table of categories and allowed/forbidden changes of the age group

As regulated in the Rock’n’Roll rules, multiple changes between the age groups within one year are not allowed. The following table shows the allowed/forbidden combination of categories for one dancer:

7.    Rock’n’Roll: Acro Calculator 2023

Following the proposal of the Sport Commission and approved by the WRRC Presidium (corrected decisions No 54 and  No. 56, Presidium Meeting Minutes), the official acro-calculator was updated, and it is again available on the WRRC website: https://wrrc.dance/rules/acro-calculator-public-version/

The changes include also some controls of the forbidden combinations of elements (acrobatic elements, entrances and exits) that were not checked and controlled automatically by the old version of the calculator, both for the RR MCCS and RR MCFS categories. Therefore, we have removed from the Registration System all previously saved acrobatic programs of the couples and formations. All acrobatic trainers will have to renew the acrobatic programs of their couple prior to announcements on the competition.

Here is a short overview of what has changed for the MCFS:

• In the semifinal and final rounds, the total value of the combination can be a maximum of 12 points (if the value is higher, it will be reduced to 12 points by the acro-calculator).

• Combinations with exit between the legs and on the waist, facing partner: new exit will be introduced in the catalog: “Between legs of partner, on waist facing partner” with a value of 0 (zero) points (i.e., reduction of 2 points in comparison with current scoring):

Programs with forbidden combinations of elements cannot be saved in the database

8.    Boogie Woogie Judging seminar – 11-12.02.2023

The Boogie Woogie Judging seminar will be organized online, on February 11, 2023. The detailed invitation was already sent to all our Members. The Seminar is open for the existing WRRC judges. The examination for all judges who have to renew their examination (last time passed in 2019. or earlier) will be organized on 12.03.2023 (Sunday).

9.    Rock’n’Roll Judging seminar – 04-05.03.2023

The Rock’n’Roll Judging seminar will be organized online, on March 04.03, 2023. The detailed invitation was already sent to all our Members. The Seminar is open for the existing WRRC judges. The examination for all judges who have to renew their examination (last time passed in 2019. or earlier) will be organized on 05.03.2023 (Sunday).
