At first, I wish you Happy New Year, may all your dreams come true, and have many fantastic dance moments and no stress!
It looks like 2023 will be a challenging year for WRRC, our events and other activities.
We are still looking for the organizer for the annual General Meeting. We hope we can give you the location by the end of next week.
In any case the GM weekend will go on as always in the second weekend of March (10.3. – 12.3.2023). We will officially announce the GM as soon as we confirm the location.
The second (and bigger) challenge is the competition calendar. At the moment there are only a few events confirmed for 2023. I’m sure we will get some applications for the autumn part of the season, but we should have at least one or two additional events also in the spring – April and/or May.
I know these are challenging times, but without competitions, we can’t “survive”. We need to find a model to have at least some events both in spring and autumn. Many of the organizers expect that WRRC will cover a part of competition costs, but unfortunately, this is not possible, because we don’t have any special income which we could invest in the events. We plan to have a “brainstorming” about this topic during the GM.
We will have our next Presidium meeting next weekend (14.1. – 15.1.2023).
I hope you will be able to find some motivated organizers and send us an application or two for WRRC competitions o be discussed and confirmed on our meeting.
