1. Minutes from the last Presidium Meeting
All decisions from the previous two meetings have either been implemented or are currently in the process of implementation. Any topics that remain unresolved will be addressed in the next Presidium meeting.
Connected to the decision (164) from May 9, 2024:
– The presidium has not received any nomination for additional members for the music commission.
2. Finance
MKI and ME informed the Presidium members that, in general, there are no outstanding invoices. However, they noted that not all the starting fees have been collected yet.
(188) The VP for Finance will remind again all the organizers with outstanding Invoices. If the amounts are not settled by the end of September 2024, further actions will follow.
The discussion followed connected to the point 3 – Extraordinary General Meeting. Following the proposal from PdT the Presidium decided.
(189) The WRRC Presidium confirmed the fees for legal services regarding the procedures for which the EGM has been called.
The Presidium discussed the provisions for Point 12 of the Fee Scale, “Support Money to participating countries in World Cups for RR MCFS and BW MC couples.”
During the meeting, several options for distributing the funds were considered. In the end, the Presidium members reached a consensus that the primary goal of the support money should be to encourage countries to send more couples to WRRC events, particularly in the highest categories of Rock’n’Roll (RR) and Boogie Woogie (BW).
The Presidium acknowledged that while most of the starting fees collected comes from Rock’n’Roll events, it is essential for the federation to support both disciplines. To address this, it was decided that a portion of the formation money collected from Rock’n’Roll events would also be allocated to support Boogie Woogie couples. This approach ensures balanced support across both disciplines and encourages greater participation in these prestigious competitions.
(190) The money will be used for RR MCFS couples and BW MC couples who took part at the World Cups (except WC Final) during the year in question.
The exact division of collected starting fees to be used for each discipline will be defined by the end of September
The funds will be distributed to each country based on the number of participating couples on each WRRC World Cup and transferred upon a claim from each member federation with provisions already defined in Fee scale.
3. Commissions and Presidium
The Presidium discussed about the necessary changes in the commissions and in the Presidium because of the resignation of Katalin Kis. Following the planned projects, it is necessary to have all positions covered.
(191) The WRRC Presidium appointed Jiri Hais (CZE) as a new VP for education. The Presidium will seek the confirmation from the delegates at the EGM August 6, 2024 – > motion to change the Agenda and Approval of Jiri Hais as VP for Education
(192) The Presidium will look for two additional members for Music commission since there were no proposals from Member federations.
(193) The Presidium will look for a possible new member of the judging commission and will appoint new chair of the commission. MKI will act as a link between the Presidium and the judging commission.
4. ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING 2025
The Presidium received an offer to host the WRRC Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2025 in Velika Gorica, Croatia. A draft of this document has already been presented. The final version is expected to be completed in September, with official confirmation and publication planned by the end of that month.
7. Competitions (item discussed on August 7, 2024, and online on August 23, 2024)
The Presidium changed the Supervisor in Cracow to Jiri Hais.
World Cup final 2024. By the regulations, there are not enough World Cups in some categories for the WC Final to be organized. The reason is the lack of scheduled events in autumn 2024.
An alternative for existing spider was discussed together with the option for hope round. All these ideas will be considered in the general restructuring of the competition flow for 2025 or 2026.
(197) At the WC final 2024 all couples who have participated on at least one WRRC event in 2024 can take part. Additional WCh RR Master formations will be added to the event.
(198) No changes of the spider system will be implemented for 2024
There were several applications for the events in autumn 2025, some of which arrived after the meeting. This led to an online follow-up on August 23, 2024. The Presidium discussed different options with the organizers and successfully established an appropriate setup for all applicants.

(200) The Presidium appointed PdT to take part on a joint meeting with the representatives of DRBV and WDSF (during the GOC).
(201) By the end of September, a special task force will be established for the WG2029.
8. WRRC 40 years – celebration for dancers
The Presidium discussed several options to organize the celebration in Prague together with the after party. The financial, organizational, logistic and entertainment aspects were considered for different options. The potential recipients of awards were also discussed.
(202) The new version of Honoration rules was approved (definition of sportive achievements for awards)
(203) The event flow of the celebration was confirmed
o Exhibition and welcome services during the event for invited guests
o Official part during the evening part of WCh in 3 short blocks
o The awardees based on the honoration rules
o After party at the official hotel
o BK will prepare the proposal for gifts for the athletes
9. Expansion and marketing
EXPANSION
LA presented her initial ideas to develop both areas. During the discussion the most important focus points were defined:
– To define top priorities
o Countries
o Categories
– Different approach for each country
– Focus on curators and coaches
– Clear definition of support and obligations
The contacts from different countries need to be collected and forwarded to LA then a new Expansion commission will be established based on the project goals and planned actions.
MARKETING
The WRRC needs additional resources, marketing is an important point. For the marketing project we need to define the following:
– The product and/or services which we want to sell
– Possibilities of sponsor exposure
o WRRC events o WRRC social media o Merchandise…
– Benefits and obligations for the WRRC and organizers of international events
10. Boogie Woogie
The Boogie Woogie commission has sent some proposals to the Presidium.
Adjustment senior class in Boogie Woogie:
– Seniors from 35 – 45 years, both slow and fast final – music tempo 46 -48
– Grand seniors 45+, only fast final music tempo 44- 46
After the consideration The Presidium couldn’t see real benefits of such a division. Currently the number of couples is not so big that it would bring any added value except to some individuals. It would only make the competition longer because of the extra final.
(204) The Boogie Woogie commission should reconsider their proposal for division of senior category and come back to the Presidium with more elaborated suggestions supported by the benefits such division could bring.
World Cup final:
– Adjust the overall system so each couple can dance more than once
– Adjust the spider system and combine it with the points to get the best couples in the final
– Jam session only for the top two places
(205) The changes of the flow of WC final will be consider for 2025 together with general revision of the competition structure. For 2024 the rules stay the same.
Adjustment of the rules:
Several proposals were presented. The Presidium approved:
(206) Adjusting the tempo for BW Main class fast to 50 – 51.
The Basic step: the double bounce can be used as a variation when it’s in the right rhythm
Music: It is preferable that dancers interpret the mood and spirit of the intro to the music
Other proposals were connected with the dancers’ representatives in the athletes’ commission, redefining the definitions of male/female to leader and follower and the dates for new seminars and examination.
All these topics need further discussion, so the VP for Sport will speak with the Boogie Woogie commission.
11. Strategic planning (revision of rules, competition structure)
DL reported on the recent meeting of the Sport Commission, which took place over the weekend, concluding just before this PM. The primary focus of the discussion was on a comprehensive revision of several key areas:
1. Definition of Dance and Acrobatics: The Commission emphasized the need for a clear, transparent, and easy to understand definition of dance and acrobatics.
2. Safety Levels and Element Inclusion: It was decided that safety levels should be rewritten to ensure basic limitations on figures and facilitate smooth transitions between categories. However, the system will allow the inclusion of new acrobatic elements without requiring individual approval for each new element.
3. Code of Points for Acrobatics: The Commission plans to rewrite the code of points for acrobatics, aiming for a simplified structure. This revision will also include the introduction of extra points for fulfilling special requirements, rewarding performances that meet these criteria
4. Fixed Mistake Points: A system of fixed points for mistakes will be implemented, providing a standardized approach to penalizing errors.
5. Observer Deductions: Deductions by observers will now be ranked, with different marks being deducted based on the severity and nature of the infractions.
6. Scoring the dance: The revision is planned in collaboration with the judging commission.
The second part of the Sport Commission’s meeting focused on revising the competition structure. The main points of discussion included:
1. Fewer Competition Rounds: The Commission considered reducing the number of competition rounds for all couples, potentially restructuring the format to include fewer stages, such as the 1st round, hope round, semi-final, and final. This change aims to streamline the competition process.
2. Hope Round: There was a discussion on the pros and cons of the hope round, with the Commission weighing its benefits as a second chance for couples against the potential drawbacks, such as increased competition duration and potential fatigue.
3. Limitation on Number of Couples per Country: The Commission discussed limiting the number of couples from each country that can advance to the semi-finals and final rounds. This proposal aims to ensure a diverse representation of countries in the later stages of the competition.
4. Alternative to the Spider System at WC Final (presented by PdT): An alternative approach to the spider system used in the World cup final was considered. The discussion focused on finding a structure that could potentially improve fairness and excitement in the final round.
The Presidium discussed various aspects of all the above and commended the SC Commission for their work. They provided some recommendations to DL for the next SC session.
(207) The Presidium confirmed the basic concept of the rule changes. The SC must present the final proposal by the end of September 2024 for any changes planned for 2025, and by the end of October 2024 for changes planned for 2026.
12. Any other item
The WRRC office has received a complaint letter regarding one or more publications that Mykhailo Petrenko had posted on social networks dated May 25, 2024, addressed to several WRRC dancers with “hostile speech”. The complaint included copies of social media publications.
(208) The WRRC Presidium will investigate these allegations. The VP for Legal Affairs will notify Mykhailo Petrenko and ask for the explanations and after the response take potential further actions.
The meeting was adjourned on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at 16:30.
