Dear Members,
The World Rock’n’Roll Confederation (WRRC) has been made aware of a fraudulent scheme in which our name, logo, and branding are being unlawfully used to solicit significant payments from families of dancers.
Description of the fraudulent scheme
An individual, falsely claiming to be coordinating with WRRC, contacts parents and informs them that their children have been selected to represent their country at upcoming international Rock’n’Roll Championships.
Parents are then requested to pay a substantial “participation fee” per athlete, with the assurance that the full amount will be refunded at a later stage.
To support these claims, a forged document bearing WRRC branding and purported signatures is presented as “official confirmation”. This document is not authentic and has not been issued, authorised, or endorsed by WRRC in any form.
Known fraudulent background
It has further been brought to our attention that the same individual was reportedly involved in a similar incident in 2023, in which money was collected from participants in connection with a WRRC World Cup event and subsequently misappropriated. The individual then disappeared with the funds.
Mandatory action for all federations and members
- Do NOT make any payments to any person claiming to represent WRRC in relation to participation fees or competition selection.
- Verify all international competition-related communications directly with WRRC through our official website and verified contact channels before taking any action or making payments.
- If you have already been approached or have made payments, report the matter immediately to your local law enforcement authorities.
- Distribute this notice widely to all parents, athletes, coaches, and clubs within your network.
Important clarification
The World Rock’n’Roll Confederation (WRRC) does not operate any system in which participation fees are collected privately by third parties, nor do we guarantee or promise refunds of such fees.
WRRC also confirms that it has never maintained a general policy of reimbursing or refunding participation fees to athletes, coaches, or representatives.
Any reimbursement or financial arrangement relating to competitions can only occur in exceptional and officially approved circumstances, and only when explicitly confirmed in writing by WRRC through official communication channels.
Accordingly, any claim of refunds, reimbursements, or financial guarantees made by individuals acting on behalf of WRRC without formal written confirmation from WRRC Headquarters is unauthorised, invalid, and should be treated as fraudulent.
WRRC strongly condemns such fraudulent activities and remains committed to protecting our members and the integrity of our sport. We thank all federations and partners for their vigilance and cooperation in addressing this matter.
Kind regards,
WRRC Office
on behalf of
Marina Eskolin, WRRC President,
and the WRRC Presidium
