Important Notice to Member Federations

To be forwarded immediately to all clubs, coaches and competitors (especially those planning to compete in WRRC events this year)

From: WRRC Office & Head Observer — Fred Pasqualin

  1. Rules enforcement at upcoming competitions — observers will apply the rules in full

At the last two competitions observers encountered a number of disputed situations. In some cases observers issued informal advice rather than immediate sanctions to give couples a chance to correct borderline items. That policy ends now.

Effective immediately, WRRC observers will apply the current WRRC rules and regulations in full at all upcoming events. This means: deductions, score adjustments, and disciplinary measures (including yellow/red cards where the rules require) will be enforced strictly and without exception when a rule is breached. This step is taken to ensure equal rights and equal treatment for all competitors and to protect competitor safety and the integrity of judging.

Action required from federations and clubs:

•                    Review and align all dance & acrobatic elements in your programs with the current WRRC rules.

•                    Remove any “lower-level” acrobatic figures that are not allowed as dance figures in the dance parts. Any “lower level acrobatic element” or elements classified outside the permitted Safety Level for the category will trigger automatic score reductions and/or sanctions.

Coaches: check and update all acro programs to avoid surprises at the event. Observers will continue to advise where possible.

This notice is not aimed to punish — it is to make expectations clear, protect athletes and ensure fairness.

Please communicate this message clearly to every club and competitor under your federation.

  1. World Cup Final – Cracow (POL)— Open format this year — prepare carefully

Per the WRRC Presidium decision, this year’s World Cup Final is run as an open event: all couples may participate without restriction (open entry). Please ensure all athletes understand the specific format and rules for the World Cup Final and prepare accordingly.

Key points & reminders:

•                    Spider system & seeding: The World Cup Final uses the Spider system as described in the World Cup Final Regulations. If 15 or fewer couples are present the first round proceeds without seeded couples; when 16 or more couples are present seeded couples (from the Top-6 WRRC ranking) are applied. Any missing couple in a battle round advances the opponent automatically. Please read the full Spider system rules in the World Cup Final Regulations.

•                    Registration, fees and prize formalities: Follow the published registration deadlines and procedures for the event; starting fees are to be paid at registration as per organizer instructions. Prize money claim rules and forms published previously remain in force — fill and submit required Prize Claim forms according to the WRRC procedure. (See the World Cup Final event page and competition documents for full details.)

Action required from federations and clubs:

1.                  Ensure prize claim forms and financial paperwork are prepared in advance (forms and procedures are/will be on the WRRC site).

If your federation or clubs have questions about interpretation of a specific element, raise the question early and in writing to the WRRC Office (info@wrrc.dance).

Last-minute appeals at the competition cannot change the rule text; preparation is the responsibility of the competitor and coach.

Thank you for your cooperation — please distribute this notice in full and without delay to all your clubs and coaches.

Clarification — World Cup List vs. World Ranking List

Following several questions we received, we would like to clarify the situation regarding the World Cup List and the World Ranking List.

Starting from this year, the WRRC introduced a new competition format — WRRC Open.

This event type is considered a lower-ranking competition and is not included in the World Cup List, which determines qualification and seeding for the World Cup Final.

However, according to the decision of the WRRC Presidium, results from WRRC Open competitions are included in the World Ranking List, under the following principle:

The best result from one WRRC Open event in the first half of the year, and

The best result from one WRRC Open event in the second half of the year
are counted, using the appropriate coefficient based on the number of participating couples.

All details are precisely defined in the official WRRC Presidium Minutes.

We wish the best luck to all our competitors on following competitions!

Sincerely,

WRRC Office
